Faith Fun and Politics

Politics is a serious business. So is faith. Both can also be a great deal of fun especially when they are brought together. This page offers some good stories, one or two confessions and links to some favourite websites

Entertainment

For those who remain hopeful about politics The West Wing is the show to watch. Despite being very honest and realistic it continues to hint at the truth that cynicism is a sin again hope. There are some exciting things going on at the moment in the States.

Poems

Aled draws encouragement and inspiration from the works of Grahame Davies. His favourite poem is Rough Guide.

Faith and Fun

Over the years, Aled has encountered several funny Christians. Some have been far too serious to realise how funny they really are. Others have just enjoyed the God given gift of laughter. Here are some memorable religious quotes:

bullet

Forbidden fruits create many jams.

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

bullet

He who angers you, controls you!

bullet

Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.

You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him.

Welcome especially to the world of the brilliant Muslim comic from California and Egypt, Ahmed Ahmed, who visited Cardiff after performing in the Edinburgh Festival in 2004. He does a double act with a Jewish rabbi, Bob Alper. They wanted a trinity of faiths for their act, but they couldn't find any funny Christians.

Aled has had a look at the websites of many Assembly Members. His favourite weblog at the moment is that of Leighton Andrews. He is however open to be persuaded otherwise.

Several Welsh MP's have really good websites. Aled's current favourite is that of Paul Flynn. Once again, he is open to be persuaded otherwise.
